Are Your Students In the Fog?
Imagine early one morning driving down the road in a thick blanket of fog and you can only see 50 feet in front of your car and the tops of a few power lines next to you jutting up out of the fog.  How fast can you drive?  Now imagine driving down the road on a clear morning with over one mile of visibility.  How fast can you go?  When students are presented and can see only one level, they are being taught in the fog and cannot progress near as fast as they can when they see the next reading level down the road.   Fishing With Phonics continually shows kids the challenge and terrain of the road ahead by presenting multiple levels of words with each lesson.
